During Eurotier on November 12 to 15, ITB-Climate introduces the Air2-DS Pro heat exchanger, which enables livestock farmers to reduce ammonia and particulate matter and heat, cool and ventilate energy efficiently in one solution. With the Air2-DS Pro they meet the new emission requirements and improve the barn climate. Heating and cooling via the Air2-DS Pro heat exchanger reduces energy consumption by about 60% per year. The Air2-DS Pro is suitable for new and existing barns in pig and poultry farming.
Better animal health by using more heat in barns
In barns with the Air2-DS Pro, all incoming and outgoing ventilation air flows through this high efficiency heat exchanger. The Air2-DS Pro ventilates, heats, cools and reduces emissions of ammonia and particulate matter. It is thus a complete solution for climate management. By recovering heat from the barn via the high-efficiency heat exchanger, livestock farmers can optimally heat on cold days. They prevent cold, drafts and moisture in the animals. In summer, the Air2-DS Pro can act as a heat exchanger that cools incoming ventilation air. Meeting the new reduction requirements for particulate matter and ammonia
The new Air2-DS Pro heat exchanger is officially registered to meet the reduction of ammonia and particulate matter in pig and poultry houses. During the heat transfer process, condensation forms on the plates. To this, particles from the outgoing ventilation air attach themselves. This results in the reduction of particulate matter by 50%. Using appropriate ventilation technology, the warmed ventilation air is distributed over the litter layer. CO₂ and water vapor are removed at the level of the animals. This leads to a healthier and animal-friendly climate. The drying process largely prevents the formation of ammonia in the wet litter layer, reducing ammonia emissions by 70%. With the ammonia reduction, livestock farmers meet the legal requirements. They create a healthier climate for the farmer, the animals and the environment. An automatic cleaning system ensures the removal of captured particulate matter in the heat exchanger.
