AIR2-ASI

  • High thermal efficiency
  • No cleaning needed
  • For new or existing air scrubbers

Air scrubbers are often considered an investment which doesn’t deliver any financial advantages. This is changed by the AIR2-ASI heat exchanger integrated in the air scrubber. The heat exchanger can be applied on both new and existing air scrubbers. Exhaust air passes the air scrubber first before it is blown through the heat exchanger. When the fresh intake air goes through the system, the energy is transferred. During this process, the air is not mixed. The results in the building improve when applying a heat exchanger.

Advantages heat regaining

Application of a heat exchanger directly leads to less use and costs of energy. The heat exchanger also ensures a uniform climate. Temperature differences inside the building are minized and air quality is homogeneous. Animals spread more evenly across the building and will be more calm. With an optimal climate the growth numbers results improve and feed conversion decreases. In buildings with a heat exchanger there is less fall-out and less use of medication. Since more ventilation is possible, also during winter, the overall living climate improves for the animals.

The AIR2-ASI exchanger integrated in the air scrubber

The AIR2-ASI is a compact air/air heat exchanger with horizontally placed tubes. The heat exchanger is placed on top of a new or existing air scrubber. The system is produced completely from plastic and is resistant to UV-radiation and aggressive substances in the air. The housing of the heat exchanger is made from ‘hollow chamber’ polypropylene sheets, which are welded air tight through extrusion welding. The tube packages are made completely from PVC, thereby guaranteeing a long lifespan.

The capacities of the heat exchanger are often adjusted to minimum ventilation. When more air is ventilated, controlled plastic valves on top of the air scrubber open so all exhaust air can leave the air scrubber.

The mechanism

After the exhaust air has passed the air scrubber, it is blown passed the tubes in the heat exchanger. Intake air is sucked through these same tubes by a fan. When the exhaust air passes the air scrubber, the temperature decreases slightly by the relatively cool water in the scrubber. Humidity will increase to nearly 100%. When this air condensates, the extra energy which is released compensates for the decrease in temperature. High efficiencies can thereby be realized. The design and material of the tube packages have been calculated in such a way that maximum efficiency is reached at minimum resistance.

Air distribution

The intake air can be brought into the building in several ways. It can be blown in straight above the animals, above a ventilation ceiling or by distribution below the floor. Recirculation fans ensure optimal distribution in the building.

Cleaning and maintenance

Since the exhaust air has passed the air scrubber it is clean when it enters the heat exchanger. Cleaning of the system is not necessary. Entry hatches provide acces for maintenance if needed.
